The mighty DuMont! Every time I see one of these I wish that I didn't give mine away for space, and the fact that it was just too big and heavy. I bet the power transformer weighs 40 pounds. There is something like 39 tubes to deal with as well if it has the AM radio option. All of them had FM from the factory with a monster speaker as is most things DuMont implemented at that time. The down side is the 19AP4 metal/glass CRT that supposedly are prone to losing vacuum with age. Mine had low emission, so I guess turning it over to a bigger collector with more space was the right thing to do. Sometimes I wish that I knew what happened to the gentleman who used to bring his van all the way from Richmond to relieve me of sets that I had lost interest in, or give me extra space. The last time I saw him was probably in the late 1990s before I ever thought about the WWW. I gave him the DuMont and a Zenith color "roundie" last time he came around. I hope someone gets this DuMont because they were the king of high end television manufacture in that period, and to me the most interesting. I wish that I could find a model that is from that period without the 19AP4 and without a ton of cabinet and steel!
