I'm actually amazed that old tv's arent worth more than they are,but I guess it all boils down to how many people there are out there that want them.

I'm also surprised that any really survived after all these years.
there had to be few things more worthless than an old tube television in the 70's,80's and 90's.

Unless you're one of us, who are knowledgeable about vintage electronics, an old TV almost for sure will not be in working condition, and few people have room for an inert wooden box. Antique furniture really doesn't have much that can't be fixed by most people (tables, chairs, cabinets, bookcases and such) and thus are more usable by the average person.

And Grandma may not have the ability to physically remove the big console TV from the living room, and (if it has doors) leave them shut. And puts a white knit cloth thing and a lamp or such atop it.
