Didn't know Altec was in the TV biz. Rare? Guy thinks it's $25,000 worth of rare: http://cgi.ebay.com/EXTREMELY-Rare-Altec-Lansing-Television-ALC-201-Ser-545-/380279498456?pt=Televisions&hash=item588a6ca6d8

That's quite a price drop. He was asked $50,000 last month :D

Now if he would only get rid of most of those zeroes he might find a buyer. Hello, reality calling, is anyone there?

It's now down to "only" $15,000 This guy is pissing away money with the eBay listing fees!

I offered him $50 for it, but got immediately declined. I thought I was being generous. Must be the season.

He says he doesn't know what it's worth, so he wants to start high so no one steals it at too good a price. You'd think after relisting it three times in the double digit thousands and getting no takers he'd realize he needs to bring it waaaay down.

The whole thing isn't very appealing to me. I don't think I'd offer even fifty bucks for it. Weird knobs, looks kind of like a TV stuck in a bedroom dresser, odd color scheme, etc. I do like that it's made in Hollywood, CA. Don't see that label on much anymore.

As an Altec-Lansing fan, it would be fun to have one of their TVs - but I'd better get it cheap.
