Did anyone in the New York City metro area catch Sue Simmons' cursing over WNBC-TV? I just saw a video clip on www.gawker.com showing the newscaster doing a promo for WNBC's 11 p.m. news, then all of a sudden, she said, "WTF are you doing?!" (She used the actual word on the air, but I'm not sure the use of the full f-word is permitted here.) I'm surprised WNBC's management didn't get into a lot of hot water with the FCC and local cable companies over this (there is now a strict rule against so-called "fleeting indecency" on TV and/or radio), as the cursing went out over the air and was heard by viewers in the three-state area served by the station. The chances are good the story of this faux pas (and that's putting it mildly) was in the New York Times the next day as well.
