There's an Internet Movie Cars Database and an Internet Video Games Database. Heck, there's even an Internet Movie PLANES Database.

So why no IMTDb? I'd really like to know what sets are in which films.

Remember the VCR in The Eyes of Laura Mars? There was a thread in a magazine (no internet yet) explaining it was a prototype of one of the losing systems in the upcoming format shakeout. Could you find the person with that knowledge again? I don't know whether we could dig up (literally) enough prop-masters to recall all the stuff.

Remember Margaret's 1960's RCA clock radio in late episodes of M*A*S*H ? It was little inconsistencies with electronics that made for good laughs!
