Picked this up for $18 at an antique mall, it's practically new. How the heck do I use it? I have the manual, but it's cryptic. I messed with it on my VT-71, but got funky looking waveforms. The tops are flat instead of humped, and I can't figure out how to get the marker to work, or if it is doing what it's supposed to, what am I looking for on the scope? A blip or something?

Neglected to mention, I already recapped it, and installed a BNC jack in the front.

Hmm. I have an EICO 369 which uses post-marker injection. I'm not sure if the 368 does though. I'll do a little research and get back to you soon.

OK, I skimmed the manual. The marker RF is mixed in with the swept RF output so no post-injection.

You'll need to set the marker frequency so that it falls within the range being swept and passing through the IF stage under test. You should see it as a little blip on the scope.
Try building the broadband detector they show on page 5 - it's a good way to make sure your 368 is working properly.
