hey guys, just looking for some input. I just got an Email from someone who responded to my ad regarding my need for a bezel or faceplate that goes around the crt and tuner of my rca ctc16xl. They wanted me to make an offer, I said i would go 50-75 bucks for it depending on the condition, is that too little? ive been looking for this thing for years and its nearby. I think they want to sell the whole set though, any feedback would be much appreciated. Bruce

If they will sell you the whole set for 50-75 go for it! (that's a fair price) It will provide plenty of spare parts.

Who knows, maybe the whole set will turn out to be a good one. I got a parts set a while ago and it turned out to be in better electronic condition than the set it was to donate parts to, I ended up fixing both:D

Bruce, since it's nearby check it out. If the bezel is nice plus whatever extra that comes attached (whole set) then all the better! You've stated a very fair price and if you end up with a whole set then you have some flexability to barter too!!

The extra parts can always go to a good home too...

A parts set would be good to have ,mine is an old combo unit that was in our living room in the sixties, if i get it though, having some extras is always a good idea, ive really wanted to fix mine up for a long time but to have them both up and running would be a blast too....

Well, they let me know that in thier estimation a set like thiers in pristine condition goes for about $500, guess it wasnt meant to be. I am ,however interested in that bridge in Brooklyn.............

Yeah, well I'd tell them "good luck" finding someone willing to cough up $500 for a CTC-16. People see want ads and suddenly think that stuff they've been too lazy to haul out of the basement is "valuable." BTW, $50 is more than reasonable for a bezel in my opinion.

Not to butt in, but those should really not carry any value. The whole set probably $50-$100, but not just the bezel. I'd pass, and it's a red flag when someone tells me to make an offer and won't quote a price. I walk away, or if I'm feeling Irish, I'd say $10. to make them walk away.
