Well.. I had to save it. (RCA HH868W CTC 21AC) Another Craigslist ad for a tv where the owner felt it was only good enough to gut and "put your own equipment in". It was up for $50 and 40 miles away, so Thursday I went over there and wrestled it into my van with an appliance dolly. After a day of recovery from messing up my back, I got into it and replaced a shorted 'lytic, fried horizontal output tube, leaky audio output transistor, weak 6DS4 nuvistor, cleaned the tuner, removed the shot pva on the crt, and replaced missing speaker wiring. That got the tv working great, but someday I will still need to find out why the FM is not working on the stereo (just static), and will somehow need to find a new cartridge for the turntable.
This was a high end unit with a heavy cabinet as well as equally heavy doors that slide in to the sides. It has to be every bit of 300 pounds..
The owner was a really nice older gentleman that had no idea people collected and repaired vintage sets. He had been saving it all these years because the cabinet was so nice and hated the idea of throwing it away.

I bet it has the Studio-Strobe turntable. It's beautiful. If it is not remote I would make it so.

Nice save, it's much better like this than with a fish tank! Love that cabinet.

Nice job on the crt and great score. I really like the rca stuff. Gotta love Zenith but the rca sets have held up really well too.

With a high end unit like this, you would figure it would have the remote option. Well I guess it doesn't matter really, as it will stay on channel 3 anyhow..
As far as the turntable, it is a Studio Strobe.

That thing is sharp! Nice job bringing it back up to top notch condition! That set is in the '67 RCA brochure I posted a few weeks ago. Its called the "Falkenberg"
