I picked up yet another set of vintage rabbit ears. The box arrived today, but was a good 10lbs heavier than I expected :scratch2:

Turns out the seller stuffed the box with vintage electronics magazines! Looks like a bunch of fun reading :D I always wanted to build a theremin.

You'll find some excellent reading there. Electronic Technician might be the best since it is geared towards TV repairmen and has lots of great tips.

Is that a sick coyote? No it's just the neighbor playing his Theremin.

Do a search on Clara Rockmore, who was perhaps the only truly successful Theremin player (although there are amateurs today who try to reach her level of skill).

LOL. There's an excellent documentary on Theremin: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0108323/ I've watched it a bunch of times - it's quite a tale.

This article was written by Bob Moog who also appears in the documentary.

I really like the old ads in these magazines. Fun to see the ones for equipment I actually have :D
I was also surprised to see how much this stuff cost back then. $75 for a B&K 440 in 1961 - that's about $500 adjusted for inflation to 2009 !

Buy Philco tubes and get some jewelry :)

How about this artists concept of a swank 1961 pad ?

You got a little gold mine in a box.
