Hi all,
Doing 2 12" 23G24 portholes and both need flybacks, anyone have one?
one is an S16204 and the other S17244

THey should interchange with s-16566 thordarson # fly52 , merit
# hv0-53 , triad # d-45r stancor # h0217 and ram # x070 or Stancor Catalog lists a 'A-8268' as a replacement for the S17244

Any leads appreciated, got the rest of the chassis done and am itching to fire it up (without the fire this time) ;-)

Thanks

Keith

Have you checked with Moyer Electronics in PA?
http://www.moyerelectronics.com/
If you haven't yet, email them your request. They have a good stash of parts.

My computer list indcates that I have the S17244. I will need to confirm.
I will re-post as soon as I confirm that I have it.

Yes, I contacted Moyer and they are looking, but nothing yet.
its a 12" and yes the flyback is underneath, peverett, if you find one im interested, that would get one up and running. Thanks for looking.

Thanks'

Great! Peverett, how much do you want for it? you can contact me directly if you'd like at topnotch@nycap.rr.com

as for the HVO 11, does it cross to the HVO 53 that Im told is a cross to the Zenith number 16566?

Both of these sets have the same mount and circuitry, the flybacks are physically somewhat different but I imagine they would interchange, correct?

Thanks

Keith

The HVO-11 is a replacement for all the Zenith's that had the flyback under the chassis. I'm using one in my 1951 Zenith and it's a much better design than the originals. These sets were known as flyback eaters so watch the cathode current on the Horizontal output tube, they shouldn't run anymore than 100 ma, I was finally able to get mine down to 90 ma with good width and linearity. The horizontal width and linearity controls have to be adjusted and readjusted several times to get the minimum cathode current, coincidentally you have the best width and linearity at the minimum current. Restoration of an early Zenith is not for the faint of heart...
