I thought you guys might like an update. rca2000 did pick up the set for me and it's still in Ohio. I hope we can meet up somewhere in between our locations. Otherwise, I'll try to head out there sometime in the next month.

What was this set? I was at sea and didn't get to see it... just tried looking and it's now deleted. Was it a roundie?

It's a Motorola 12K2 - 12" B&W from 1950. I saved a local copy of the pictures. Here they are again.

That's a cool lookin Moto. The cabinet don't look too bad... hopefully a good cleaning will fix 'er up. Hopefully that CRT will still be good.

It's a 12LP4 so not too hard to replace if it is bad. I thought the HV cage and flyback were missing until I checked the service info.
They're actually underneath the chassis like in this picture courtesy of Rob Dusel :)

Yeah that 53 Moto I got recently has the flyback and 1B3 under the chassis as well. In those days, I suppose there was far less under the chassis and it gave them more room to house the HV components underneath.

I'm going to head out for Ohio tomorrow to pick it up. I figure I better get out there before winter really sets in!
