I am out of room, I'm getting rid of a lot of stuff. I need the space to work on and store my early color sets and nice keepers. I am giving away the following: 1968 Magnavox color set in a beautiful cabinet with sliding doors on the front (not a combo) It has a small busted spot on the front that can be fixed. It also has a tired but working CRT. Set plays with a greenish picture. No rejuvenation was tried so you might get lucky. Next, a perfect working 1953 Sentinel that is un restored. Needs a channel knob and has a few scratches, overall looks nice. Has doors on the front. Strong bright CRT. Also giving away a blonde 1957 Zenith 21" console w/ swivel base. Finish is bad on top, CRT showing it's age but the set works. Next on the chopping block is a 1950 Admiral combo, rectangular screen of about 15" Am Fm phono. Cabinet needs a ton of work but might be fun for someone. I was going to tackle it but just no time or space. Electronics are unknown on the Admiral. 1965 Zenith roundie cabinet only, french provincial. Needs refinishing. I have the bezels too if needed. Originally had the 25MC33 chassis. I might have more, these are what I can think of off the top of my head. I'll post more if I find any. Please come to Kenosha and take this stuff away before I make another trip to the dumpster behind Dollar Tree. Just be careful and stay away from the fat girls wandering around in pajamas.

Hi Mark,
Any idea what CRT is in that 1950 Admiral?

P.S. Thanks for the warning :lmao:

Hey Bob, I'll check and see if I can dig the Admiral out. It's kinda buried at the moment. Also, I think it takes a damn fine girl to look good wandering around dressed like that. I don't know why so many do it around here. It sucks because it's all the wrong girls doing it. LOL. I think, a nice ass has a good jiggle in pants like that. Now, I'll be quiet too :D

Thanks - no rush. If you know the model #, I might be able to answer my own question.

Hello, I know a person in Milwaukee, Wisconsin for I know who can get the 1968 Magnavox and those other sets you want to scrap for me-it's Colin at 1 414 383-3348 in Milwaukee-thanks:-) He's mainly interested in the 1968 Magnavox color set with the sliding doors-thanks and much appreciated.

Sorry Derek, I called and he said he has no room and I have no time. I need the space. Trust me, this stuff isn't worth all that effort anyways. I decided to keep the Admiral but the Zenith, Zenith cabinet and the effed up Maggie gotta GO! I think I'll save the safety glass from the Maggie CRT for my '66 Silvertone POS that has it missing from a CRT rebuilder. If anyone needs a '68 Maggie chassis, let me know. I have 2. I also have an early SS Maggie chassis. I'll keep digging, there's more crap in there I just know it.

I might be interested in the 57 Zenith. Do you know what crt it takes? I have an uncle in Milwaukee but he does not drive. But he has a garage that it can sit in till I make it down that way. So I guess it would depend on whether or not my 21yp4a would work in it, and if someone would be willing to drop it off at my uncles. And if you still have it. :)

I still have it and would love for you to save it, I saved it at an estate sale about 7 years ago and would hate to see it in that dumpster. I'll dig it out over the Thanksgiving break and see what tube it takes. The set works but needs a recap and the CRT is dim. The finish isn't so great either. I used to watch nascar on it when I had rummage sales at my Mom's place back in the day.

The '53 Sentinel is also still available to whomever wants it. I paid 40 bucks a while back for it but I'd rather just give it away and be done with it.....any takers?? Could be a very nice set.

"Fat girls in pyjamas..." Sounds like a casting call for the next George Romero flick..."Morning After the Night in the Suburbs of the Living Dead..." Maybe one of THEM would bring that Sentinel to Miami ?!?

I would say U-Ship is the best bet, I would guess around 175$ +- 40$. Make a posting there and see what someone bids.

Just thought of another one, it's in Lake Forest so IL pickup is easy. 1959 RCA Masonite cabinet console, mahogany foe finish. I'll post the model number tonight when I get to work.
EDIT: It's a model 210K355 21" B/W and I forgot to mention, it works fine!
Please come get it out of this middle school:D

Geez. Do I have to post pictures of this crap or what? No one wants any of this stuff? That seems strange, some of it is pretty nice and all of it is honestly described. I guess I'm in a bad location. I would also be willing to meet anyone within a 30 mi radius if that helps too.

I feel your pain! I could set somebody up with pickup loads of TV sets, free or cheap. But nobody wants to drive out this way, I guess. Maybe we can save up and start paying folks to take them :)

I'd love to help out, but I'm drowning in sets.

Tell ya what - if any of your sets have a 16" CRT like a 16KP4, 16RP4, 16TP4 etc. let me know. That Admiral might - if you still have it. I need one for my Sentinel 430 which is in excellent condition, but the 16RP4 CRT is shot.

17-T-150 is spoken for, it will have a nice home, now for the rest.......
Bob, sorry, I have none of those CRTs and I decided to try my skills at the Admiral, I like challenges. I'm not sure what CRT it has.

No takers on the rest?? Their days are numbered and have to go. The one I keep at the MIDDLE SCHOOL too. It's funny that it's been there over a year and no one notices it:D But when they do......Geez.

I'm looking for another TV project but WI is too far away from NC.
If you can somehow save those old TV's, I bet in a few years they will have quite a bit more value than now. I attend estate sales and I just don't see any 1950 vintage TVs around here.

Whatever happened to the 1957 Zenith?

I hope the whole set found/will find a good home, but, should that sadly not be possible, I need a channel knob (or the nearly identical volume knob would do) for my B2225R (17B20).

I still have the '57 Zenith. I'll take off any part you can use. Do you want a pic of the knobs?

I'll be getting the '57 out this weekend, sorry I couldn't get to it earlier. I'm also pulling out the other stuff and probably parting it out. Last chance on what's left is THIS WEEKEND. After that they will be junked. :(

Waaaaahhh...I'd take ALL of 'em if I was closer...Or as many as I could stuff into the cavernous maw of The Mighty Valdez...Those ugly fat girls wandering around-Are they Zombies, like in the George Romero flicks ? I always thought/suspected those were based on truth....

zenithfan1

I think so Sandy, they look pretty mindless as they wander. Although I saw one yesterday that WASN'T in pajamas, she had on a half shirt and short shorts and wore them well enough to stop traffic, literally. She was crossing the street as I wanted to turn left and all the oncoming traffic stopped. Guys were waving her through against the don't walk signal. A first for Kenowhere I think.

Now there's a 56ish Philco taking up valuable space. Powers up with a collapsed vertical
and a brightener on the CRT. It's days are very numbered too.

zenithfan1

The philco is going to the curb if not picked up by this coming weekend. No kidding, it can't stay at my house. Need room for color sets.
