Hey TV people!

Just yesterday, I discovered a '79 Colortrak console in a staff housing cabin here at Interlochen fine arts camp. The Tv uses the old style remote where the remote doesn't use the infrared system. The TV itself doesn't have an LED readout or channel indicator anywhere on the set so I'm guessing it's an early OSD.

The problem with this TV is it won't turn on but it is getting power and it is making a click and a "vrrrum" (possibly the degaussing coil?) sound when the power button is pushed but neither the picture or sound will come on.

What could possibly be prohibiting this TV from being fully functional?

Probably uses a CTC92 chassis and those could be a pain to troubleshoot. It could be the regulator module, the horizontal module, or anything else in the power supply or horizontal circuit. Before you get carried away with repairing it, I'd check the CRT. Those late '70's delta gun RCA tubes were not that great and most of the ones that I find are either weak or shorted.
