Ahh yes, nothing I like better than shipping big glass things cross country... :D

I hate bidding on CRTs so I don't unless it's local.

Nice tube, good luck to anyone who has it shipped, it would be a shame to see it broken.

Wow...too much for me. I think I will just get mine rebuilt at that price. Your not even sure if its a 21fjp22 and if it hasn't been hit with a rejuvinator. No offense if the seller is on here but as of now they are a mystery and some people happen to be ruthless. I hope it works out for the winner and a tv is saved.:thmbsp:

this tube will go for at least between 400 and 600.00 dollars and maybe higher. In five years will go for $1,000.00. Collecting picture tubes is better that the stock market

Just wondering why anyone would pay this much for a tube that you can still get rebuilt for $150?

Who's rebuilding CRTs that inexpensively?

If I buy the tube I will be saving at least 300.00 in packing and shipping back and forth to Iowa

Video Display Corp has had the best prices, but Hawkeye has the best experience on those. I don't know Hawkeye's price, but VDC still charges $150.

VDC does not rebuilt 21 tubes any more. If the do let me know the person's name and their phone number.
Dallas VDC stop rebuilding about two years ago, and when you call the other(new ) location they dod not have a clue of what you are talking about. I had two tubes rebuilt at Dallas' VDC and Phill was the liason then.

That just sounded low since Hawkeye quoted me $270 for a 23MP4.

I called VDC again this morning and they referred me to vdc in Pennsylvania 1800 441-1648. they informed that the person in charge of rebuilding tubes is Ervin and he was not available. They asked phone, name phone and tube number. As soon I gave her the tube number and mentioned that it is a round tube she stated that she does not believe they do this type any more. But she promised to call me back.

How long Hawkeye will stay in business is unknow to us, but the horizon looks dim. Where all the 21'' tubes will be in 20 to 40 years?

I haven't ordered one in the past year, so maybe I'm all wet. Last one I got was from VDC, and I got it through Martin Distributing in Los Angeles, so as to have free shipping. It was $166 with tax. Martin doesn't ship out though. They're an authorized VDC agent, so they have a truck delivery on a regular basis. But with the CRT getting outdated so quickly, maybe the past year has seen big losses in CRT rebuilders? I'll check into it when I'm down that way.
