Okay, finally got to getting these pics. This one was saved from a thrift store dumpster up in Missouri. Not a single thing wrong with this set whatsoever.

Right out of a dumpster, huh? The things people throw out....:scratch2:

Nice Sony.

It was sitting in front of the dumpster when I pulled up. The lot was crammed full, causing me to have to park in the back. I asked if there was something wrong with the set, and they'd told me that I could just take it. Of course, I did. The tube is still surprisingly strong and bright on it too. Excuse the poor picture, that's a result of our location in a small valley, the signal is pulled from the rabbit ears atop the set. I have yet to wind a cable into the garage from our DISH boxes.

I found an almost identical set (KV-1916) in the alley this winter, also working perfectly. I didn't have room for it, so I gave it away to somebody on Freecycle who appreciated it. Luckily I found it one one of the coldest days of the year... too cold for the metal collectors to be out and smash the set up for the yolk.

I think the difference in the two may be the cabinet finish. (wood grain and silver)

I like how these Sony's utilize a bigger-than-average CRT socket/video output board. By getting the video amps off the mainboard they made sure the sets lasted a just a bit longer IMO.
