Was browsing antique radios on eBay, and decided I HAD to have this one! :)

It's going to go out for a professional refinishing as soon as it comes home :)

Nice choice Tim!
I have the same model and mine plays very well. Its another one of the "big console sound out of a tabletop" kind of radios. I'm a big fan of Bendix radios and when i recieved this one i wasnt disapointed. Mine even has a factory phono input so i can play records or cd's thru it when nothing good is on AM. I know you'll be happy with it.

I've also got a similar model, the 636C, which I bought at an auction in 1978 at the age of 7. Paid $7.50 for it, and it's served me well these last 26 years. Refinished the case in tung oil in the early 90's and she's still beautiful. The radio that watched me grow up......

Beautiful radio, Tim. I'm not too familiar with Bendix, but I love the grille treatment on this one!

I have one of these also. Unfortunately mine fell off the counter in the kitchen while I was exercising my radios. I really like the radio. Like others have said they perform really well. My wood cabinet cracked all the way through one side into the dial area. I still have it because I havent figured out what to do with it. The wood can be repaired. I have thought of taking it to a wood shop and get it fixed and refinished. Up to this point I guess I have stalled thinking the cost would outweigh the value of the plain wooden radio. Seems some folks find them interesting at least. Anybody got an extra cabinet?

I'll split a radio with you if interested. I need a chassis to get some components from to make my original radio operational.

What say ye? :)

I dont quite know what to say. You need my working chassis for parts and I need your unbroken cabinet. There is something I'm not getting I guess. I dont know what you mean unless you simply wanted to buy my chassis. A working original chassis would not be the one to part out. Do you want to get rid of a cabinet? If I traded my chassis for a good cabinet I would have two empty cabinets. Hey :D this would convert mine to maintenance free. Always think positive! Please dont take any sarcasm wrong. Just kidding around. I dont understand still the same.:dunno:
