WTF?

Am I missing something? Why is the screen practically on the floor? It looks like it has feet, so I'm assuming nothing's missing.
:wtf:

The set was actually designed that way. It is a General Electric LOW-BOY. It was thought that the low slung CRT was thought to give a more natural viewing angle. YES, the set sits on legs. In my collection I have a LOW-BOY but the book case model. The set is from around a 1955.

A TV placed at about standing waist level equates to eye level when seated, that IMO would be closer to ideal.

Notice how workplace computer monitors which are ergonomically positioned tend to be either at eye level or above?

I have a GE set just like this but it has the normal layout for an upright console (screen is at top of console, knobs under screen, speaker at bottom front).

Where is the speaker at on the EBAY set?

The speaker is on the left side of the set. Mine is just a 4" speaker.
