Here's a magazine ad from 1950 on Zenith's "Porthole" lineup. I scanned the ad in sections then assembled and resized in photoshop. I have a hi-res file that will print on 8 1/2 X 11. If anyone wants the hi-res file let me know, file size is 1.93 MB I also posted a new video of my "Claridge" table model on youtube: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ATVpoVVuTzs

Looking at it from a 58-year distance, that "Claridge" is one funky-looking TV....But I'd give my eyeteeth for one in that shape...

So name does this one go by? It maybe a 1951 model with a 16" crt, it is a H2449E. I got it about three years ago. Still is on the todo list. Did kinda get it working with sound and four pictures. Needs some horzontal work.

I don't know the name of that one, It is a 1951 "H" series. It's either my eyes or an optical illusion but the circles on the grille cloth seem to turn on their sides at times when I look at the photo, Kinda like this photo that appears to be moving but isn't.

That one might be the "Churchill", but I'm not 100% sure.
Yes, it is a 1951 model.
The horizontal hold control is a multi-turn slug, and *maybe*, if you're lucky, it's just turned a few turns too far one way.

Love the vid! :thmbsp:

I have a '49 12" Zenith table model that I need to recap and restore some day. When I last tried it the set worked well, giving a bright, sharp picture on WFSB channel 3 out of Hartford, CT. I need to recap it and then do an alignment, as the sound and picture will not tune together.
