A long time coming-years dreaming & nearly a year of work, but the addition to our house is done & I'm moving in to my radio & TV rooms. Finally, I can share some of my collection. First I thought I'd show this, model 212 G 805 MV, CTC-11C chassis. Here is it's story:
In the mid-90s I stopped into an indoor/outdoor flea market about 2 hours from home. There, at one of the regular vendors, sat this TV. The bad news was that the owner wasn't in that day-his neighbor told me the fellow would definately be there the following week. Not too happy about it, having to travel all the way back over there again, but when he told me the price-$15-I stopped complaining. (later my then girlfriend, who was with me, told me she was sure he actually said $50, but he didn't complain about the $15 I gave him...) Initially the set had a sync problem that I could not readily cure & it sat for awhile. Finally, about 2 years ago I started to toy with it. I had just about got the sync problem remedied when it began throwing the internal breaker just as the HV came up. Turned out to be a bad can capacitor. After that came some other horizontal problems that I had to troubleshoot-I was learning a lot about this time, some of it thanks to this set. Once I stopped messing around & got all new tubes in the horizontal circuit, plus all new electrolytics, it started behaving right.
This set has a rebuilt crt, Channel Master if memory serves. Has the beginning of cataracts but not noticable yet. It does have some signs that the crt is weak-kinda dark until it warms up, and not as bright as I'd like it at best. I need to run the set through a thorough setup now that it sits in it's permanent home.

Here is a shot of my row of roundies, starting with my CTC-5 and ending with a pair of Zeniths. I'll post more pictures soon.

What kind of antenna are you using? That show looks to be the Venusian 6 o'clock news! LOL

Ha! Really, CSPAN was the only channel I could find where someone would stay still! I like fleshtones on a color set & I wasn't quick enough to catch anyone standing still on the other channels. This set had some tuner problems which makes some channels intermittent, complicating things.

I also have the same set. Mine works but having problems with color bursting on the screen. Have yet to pull the chassis to look at it. Got mine at an antique mall in Texas. Hope to get it going this month.

That CTC-11 brings back memories in college in Hays Ks. in '71. Got it free. Replaced the caps and all the the tubes in the high voltage section for $10. Had a great picture on it. Used it for three years and sold it $100.

Watched a lot TV back then. Had an audio out and ran it through my Fisher 400. Johnny Carson was on at 10:30 in the midwest. Followed by reruns of the "Untouchables"

Also fixed up an older TV with a older sulphirte (??) tube. Not as good a pic but it had a Danish Mod Walnut cabinet. Your "11" looks like my old "10."

Like audio I have "played" with this stuff a long, long time!! Since 1961. Lots of fun. Wish I had room for these "roundies" . Have so much audio and not enough room for that.

Great Stuff...Eric:D
