Dave (aka Big Olds98) grabbed this set two weeks ago, mostly to save it from the dumpster. He parked it in my garage so he wouldn't have to heave it upstairs or downstairs...

Neither he or I want it, but we don't want to see it in the trash either. Working condition is unknown.

Anybody here know the model number? We were thinking of putting it on the bay, but I said we should ask here first in case somebody is in love with it.

I'd almost take it, but I don't have the room for it, nor do I know how to fix a tube TV.

Still have that 1958 Silvertone sitting in my garage...

Haven't had time to mess with it, but I'll probably test the CRT eventually.

Darn, Detroit is 2000+ miles from here, or else I would ask you about that set.

If I had a large enough vehicle i'd be all over that set. That's the exact cabinet design i've been looking for too. Darn.

I used to own a set just like that, CTC-16E. Here's a link to a video of the set in operation: http://s160.photobucket.com/albums/t179/wurly1100/?action=view&current=RobotMovie.flv
That's not my old set, It had extreme wear to the top front edge.

It looks exactly like the first color set my parents bought. I was all of about 7 years old when they brought that set home. The set we had ran for years and years until they finally traded for an all solid state RCA.

I would love to have that model year set if no one closer gets to it first.

I picked up this set a couple of weeks ago and was quite disappointed when I tried it out. The picture was completely green, with only a hint of blue at the bottom left side. My initial thought was that the red and blue guns were dead, and that I had just purchased another set in need of a new CRT.
I swapped the chassis this evening with a spare from Captain Moody (a million thank you's!) and was quite surprised and pleased with the result. The colours are quite briliant and vivid, but the picture appears a bit out of focus, as if the colors are shadowing one another. Color tv is a whole new ball game for me. Any advice on fine tuning the picture?

Also check the high value resistors in the focus section. I had to replace those in my roundie to get the focus within range.

Got to love those roundies!
