I got a Grundig YB-P 2000 (see picture.) It works OK but I can't figure out how to set the presets. I have pushed every button conceivable. Anyone have instructions for this that they could scan, or at least excerpt? Appreciate it!

Hi Reece, I think but not absolutely positive, (1) tune the station, (2) press the memo/time set button, (3) press the desired preset number until the display flashes once.

If not then maybe you can get an owners' manual download here.

Thanks Dave, that did not work, and something is keeping me from getting the info off the Grundig website: computer says their site has bad certificates, and even if I disable that, the site does not work, so I emailed them to ask if they can send me the instructions as an attachment. Eventually...

Thanks,
Reece

Jeez, I had it, downloaded it and then I couldn't open it - said it was damaged.

Anyway here's what I can remember - (1) tune station (2) press memo/time set button (3) press the desired preset number (4) press memo/time set button again.

Er...it worked for the first 5 buttons, but the last 5 won't take a station. But I have asked Grundig to email me the "destructions"....

Still monkeying with this, I found that if I press "Freq" and then enter any frequency with the buttons, like 1060, then hit "Freq" again, the set tunes to that frequency. So maybe it is not supposed to have more than 5 presets? Will have to wait and find out.

Sounds right to me Reece, 20 presets, 5 per band - 5xAM, 5xFM, 5xSW1, 5xSW2.

My YB-300 has only 6 working buttons out of 10 for presets.

That's it, Dave. This has FM, MW, SW1, SW2 bands, and only 5 presets can be had on every band, corresponding to buttons 1 through 5. Set has 10 buttons: buttons 1 through 0 can also be used to select a precise frequency. This answers everything: thanks for your help. :music:

Very nice collection of radios in the background of your photo....Just found the same Grundig, mine didn't have the case either, seems like a cool little radio, haven't had enough time to mess with it but it looks like a keeper...

Thanks, the radios in the background are a 1937 Emerson AC 149 (with incorrect grille cloth for the time being) white plaskon with black bakelite cabinet and back cover (this is one of the Emersons with 3-piece case.) This radio is 99.99% perfect, apart from the grille cloth, that is.

The others are 1949 little sisters Silvertone 9001 (ivory) and 9000 (brown). These were made by Arvin for Sears.

All these radios have been cleaned up, recapped, realigned, and play great. The ivory Silvertone needed a little paint mixed to match and a few nicks touched up here and there with a toothpick. From 2 feet away you can't tell anything: it's the original paint job.
