I use to work on old tube sets like that a long.....long time ago.

I pulled out my old diver's light just like the one they used in the original
movie, "JAWS". It even still works.
Think I could sell it with the guy's Elvis TV?

You'd think Elvis would have had a "Deluxe" chassis, instead of the "Super".

Vertical issues aside, the screen caps suggest this TV outperforms some of RCA's much later tubed color sets I'm familiar with.

A Super might not be a Deluxe, but methinks that chassis has gotten a bum rap.

I just don't get it. Here's a shown-to-be-working color roundie that I, and many others would go a long way to get, in a nice cabinet, and isn't going for that much. It wasn't even listed in the meth addict's sex-ad, scam-artist rag Craigslist, yet so many unkind comments in this thread. Why all the worship of the Zenith roundie the other day with luncheon-loaf-color cabinet :puke2: plus 2 3DG4's funneling big $$$ to the power company :sadwave: and so little reverence for this old gal? Must I do all the praising here? Does association with Elvis automatically ruin an otherwise good auction? Was Anna Nicole really America's Princess?

I know what you mean about fawning over sixties-era stuff in low-profile cabinets, but I think this set will bring a tidy sum in the end. Just wait.

I agree, that's a very desirable set. I like the cabinet better than most color roundies. The picture quality is outstanding, considering that it appears to be unrestored. I would trade my ratty CTC-11 for it in a heartbeat.

I'd swap one of my R-390s for it...Not an R-390A, but an R-390...<grin>

It does need repair(in protect, probably outs on one channel) but is in good condition physically, with the rosewood panels.

I would even toss in my TA-N- 55ES, (also neding one channel repaired(I KNOW it will work if it gets the other channel repaired,) also with rosewood and in good condition too.), for one that worked and that could be brought to me(or close to here). Both amps are just ion my garage at the moment. I would gladly see them leave and a CTC-5 TV (of ANY type, super or deluxe in any cabinet, as long as it is in decent condition and repairable, with a good fly, tube and major things)come in their place.
